one perfect thing
The Eliza Chair, a carved-front chest, and pottery hens from the French countryside are just a few of the timeless pieces we seek out and stand behind—objects that are, in our eyes, perfect. One Perfect Thing is our way of sharing the things that transform an ordinary space into a home and celebrating the quiet beauty found in just the right piece.

A piece we’ve loved for years–the Eliza. These chairs are chameleon-like in their ability to occupy a variety of architectural environments: craftsman, rustic, traditional, warm modern, western, and even Art Deco.
carved front chest
This solid maple chest was adapted from a ceremonial chest at the Museum of New Mexico, but we think it’s an eclectic touch and a clean overall form that can’t easily be classified. We appreciate the fact that this piece is obviously made by human hands.
French guinea hens
These artisanal, hand-painted guinea hens, quails, and chickens from the South of France are truly one of our favorite things. Made since 1974, these delightfully playful and infinitely conversational pieces of pottery seem to capture everyone who sees them.
